What happens during the first appointment?
We will discuss what brings you to therapy, relevant history, current symptoms, and what you hope will be different. We will begin identifying treatment goals and an approach that may be helpful.
How does online therapy work?
Appointments use a video platform designated for telehealth sessions. You need dependable internet, a camera and microphone, and a reasonably private place to speak. You must be located in Texas during every appointment.
Do you use AI-assisted documentation?
Yes. I use an AI-assisted documentation tool under the practice’s privacy and security procedures to help prepare my clinical notes. This allows me to spend less time writing during appointments and remain more present and engaged with you throughout the session. You will receive additional information about the tool and be asked to sign a separate consent form before treatment begins. Consent to AI-assisted documentation is required to receive services from my practice.
What is the cancellation policy?
Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee.
Do you provide crisis services?
No. This practice does not provide emergency services or continuous crisis monitoring. Call or text 988 for crisis support. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for immediate danger or a medical emergency.
Can therapy replace detox or intensive treatment?
No. Outpatient psychotherapy may complement recovery services, but it does not replace medically supervised detoxification, residential treatment, PHP, IOP, or emergency care when a higher level of support is needed.
